Cub Scout Leader Training

To be TRAINED, you must:

  • Complete YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING every two years.
  • Complete CUB LEADER SPECIFIC TRAINING for your specific position.
  • A new role specific training may be required when you change leadership positions.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training

This course provides specialized knowledge a leader needs to assume a specific leadership role. Cub Scout Leader Specific Training covers all positions and their assistants: Tiger Leaders, Cub Scout Den Leaders (Wolves and Bears), Webelos Den Leaders, Cubmasters, and Pack Committee Chairs and Committee Members. You must take both sessions of Cub Scout Leader Specific Training in the Dunes Moraine District. You will be fully trained for all Pack leadership positions eliminating the need to take training each time you change positions!

BALOO

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation. This training is not required for all Cub Leaders, but at least one adult member must be BALOO trained in order to go camping.

WEBELOS Outdoor Leader Training

Designed to give you an understanding of the Webelos outdoors program in preparation for the transition to Boy Scouts. Highly recommended prior to Webelos Campouts!

WOOD BADGE

The ULTIMATE in leader training!

The Wood Badge experience is training for adult leaders from all scouting programs. It provides participants with first-hand knowledge regarding how teams develop and achieve excellence. Participants take part in an active learning process through involvement in planning, development, presentation and assessment.

Participants will enjoy a world-class learning experience that will strengthen their long-term commitment to Scouting and provide them with valuable leadership skills.

Boy Scout National Youth Leadership Training

Boy Scout Leader Training

To be TRAINED, you must:

  • Complete YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING every two years.
  • Complete BOY SCOUT OR VENTURING SPECIFIC TRAINING
  • Complete OUTDOOR LEADER SKILLS

 

BOY SCOUT & VENTURING LEADER SPECIFIC

  • Boy Scout Specific is for all Scoutmasters and Asst. Scoutmasters.
  • Venturing Specific is for all Crew Advisors and Asst. Crew Advisors.

Both Boy Scout and Venturing leaders also must complete Introduction to Outdoor Leaders Skills training to be considered fully trained.

The course addresses the needs of adults who have accepted the responsibility of guiding the Scouting program for youth. Discover rewards and challenges of troop or crew leadership. Sessions are thorough, comprehensive and fun! Participants discover essentials of their leadership positions and realize that they can easily become successful Scout leaders. Discussions and group activities incorporate real world experience.

NOTE: BOY SCOUT LEADERS MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS.

OUTDOOR LEADER SKILLS

Practical outdoor skills needed for adults to lead Scouts in the great outdoors. Hands-on knowledge setting up campsites, hiking, cooking and more.
